Traveling with children and unsure of the rules? Here are the facts, in plain English — and how we make them a non-issue.
The general rule
Children must normally use a child car seat until they are 12 years old or 135cm tall, whichever comes first.
The taxi exemption
Licensed private hire vehicles are exempt. If the correct seat isn't available, a child may travel without one only on a short trip.
How we help
We don't rely on the exemption. We fit the correct, UK-approved seat free of charge — just tell us your child's age and weight.

Which car seat does my child need?
UK child seats are grouped by weight and height (not age). Use this guide, then tell us your child's details when booking. we'll fit the right seat free of charge.

Seats are rear-facing until at least 15 months per UK i-Size (R129) standard. All seats meet UK safety standards (R129 / i-Size or ECE R44).
